Software engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining computer-based applications and systems using programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and others. They follow certain rules, standards, and best practices to ensure the software is efficient, secure, and meets the intended requirements.
As a Software Engineer at Visa, the selected candidates need to analyze the business requirements and develop components using functional programming. They will be responsible to review the code and participating in testing of these components.

Roles and responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance robust and scalable distributed systems utilizing principles of functional programming.
- Collaborate in analyzing business needs and create detailed documentation for functional and technical designs.
- Create and implement testing strategies for APIs, abstractions, and integration methods to tackle complex distributed computing challenges, including end-to-end and integration test cases.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Candidate must have completed their graduation in Technology, Engineering, or have done a Master’s in technology.
- Experience: Candidate must have experience of 0 to 1.6 years.
- Other requirements: Ideal candidate must have completed their degree in year 2023 or 2024.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in building web-based applications and services.
- Proficiency in programming languages and technologies like Java, JavaScript, J2EE, XML, and shell scripting.
- Hands-on expertise with unit testing and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Familiarity with continuous integration processes, test/code coverage tools, and working within various development frameworks is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills are essential for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
